Synopsis
The pomegranate is the fruit of the land, a symbol of rejuvenation and rebirth. It is also a euphemism for a hand grenade. From the Academy Award-nominated director of 'The Restless Conscious: Resistance to Hitler Inside Nazi Germany, 1933 - 1945' comes a suspenseful, multi-layered documentary centered on a group of young people born into a violent, on-going war. They are young Palestinians and Israelis, caught in the duality of the pomegranate: will they embrace rebirth and each other's humanity, or will they pull the pin on the grenade? Watch the Trailer Reviews "Hava Kohav Beller's beautifully shot documentary gives an urgent and very modern new face to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict." - NEW YORK MAGAZINE "Hava Kohav Beller has done a great service to the cause of peace with her engrossing, illuminating documentary." - WOLF ENTERTAINMENT GUIDE "An extraordinary documentary that becomes an immediate must-see. It is moving and surprising, even occasionally funny, but always thoughtful and humane." - TRUST MOVIES "Sobering. A tough and clear-eyed look at how things are rather than how we want them to be." - THE NEW YORK TIMES "Fascinating...intellectually challenging." - VARIETY "No one can see this film without being changed." - EDMUND WHITE Links
