Synopsis

Identical triplets Angel, César and Marcos, age 11, are passionate about becoming ballet dancers. And they all want the same thing: to be picked for a role in an important ballet in Havana, Cuba. Who will be chosen?

Their teachers at the world-renowned National Ballet School of Cuba say all three have the talent, potential and determination needed to become great dancers. Training at the School, where thousands compete for coveted places, is rigorous and demanding. Only the best students are selected to go on to master the robust and expressive style that distinguishes Cuban ballet.

Filmmaker Sylvie Collier was granted extraordinary access inside the ballet school and at home with the triplets. Her film offers a rare perspective on what it takes to achieve professional success in the context of Cuba's surprising international impact in developing great dancers.

As the triplets prepare for a chance to make their debut on stage at Havana's celebrated Grand Theatre, they receive an unexpected visit from ballet superstar José Carreño. He tells them to pursue their dream just as he did as a boy growing up in Havana.
