Synopsis
Behind the Scenes brings the magic - and the mystery - of artistic creation to DVD. Hosted by magicians Penn and Teller, this award-winning series goes behind the scenes to discover the creative process with renowned artists. Volume 1 reveals the methods and tricks of the trade that painters and illustrators employ to create their work. David Hockney, Wayne Thiebaud, Matt Groening (creator of The Simpsons) and Robert Gil de Montes are all featured. Volume 2 focuses on theatre, sculpture and photography, as Julie Taymor (director of the Broadway hit The Lion King, and feature films Titus and Frida), sculptor Nancy Graves and photographer Carrie Mae Weems share their craft. William Wegman adds to the fun with his playful Weimaraner dogs! Volume 3 features the noted dancer and choreographer David Parsons, the conductor
JoAnn Falletta, and the musicians Max Roach and Allen Toussaint as it explores
the world of music and dance. Grammy winner Bobby McFerrin helps out too. Reviews "! The freshest approach and most inspirational content since Sesame Street!
